Mama, I have been there too..
Ā
Before becoming a mom, you were an athlete for years and spent countless hours in the gym. You were strong, pushed yourself every workout and built a body you were proud of. You felt completely in control of your body and life.Ā
But then you got pregnant or had your baby, all that changed.
Your pregnant workout "plan" was essentially to continue with your Strength, CrossFit or Olympic Lifts as is, pushing when and where you can, but that has left you inconsistent in the gym and realizing you weren't ready to adjust or accommodate or adjust your technique for your changing body.
Or you've just had your baby and your postpartum "plan" essentially was to rest for the 6ish weeks your OB told you to, do a little rehab and then hop right back to workouts as normal.
Ā
You did not go through any rehab for your core and pelvic floor after birth, or you did a few exercises here and there and then completely stopped.
Either way, you're trying to force your pre-baby workout routine, but...Ā
šš» You feel limited in your strength, your workouts feel a lot harder, and you can't fully push yourself like you're used to (or you're nervous to push because you don't want to get injured or hurt your baby)Ā
šš» Between the limited ability in your workouts and all of the body changes that came with pregnancy and postpartum, you don't look or feel like your athletic self which has thrown you into a whole identity crisisĀ
šš» You have back pain, SI joint pain, were diagnosed with a prolapse, and/or are peeing your pants in lifts and it's limiting how to show up in the gym and you're afraid you're going to make it worse.Ā
At this point you aren't sure what to do because you don't want to slow down or stop your workouts altogether (as an athlete mom I get this because neither did I), but you don't even know what to do or how to fix your pain or peeing.
But here is the problem: If you never take the time to address this in pregnancy and then rehab and retrain your core and pelvic floor, rebuild your body, learn how to breathe through lifts, how to brace properly in a lift, how to bridge the gap between rehab and your CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting workouts, and what pelvic stability exercises to include into the workouts you are already doing, you will continue to be limited, living with symptoms, and have a significantly increased risk for injury.
You will continue to try to force your pre-baby routine in pregnancy and postpartum, squeeze in your favorite CrossFit WOD "because it looks fun" or do test out some snatches and cleans to "find your new postpartum baseline."
But that is not training with intention and that is not what's going to actually help you fix your pain, peeing, how to push safely in pregnancy, or get you back to feeling like an athlete again after babies.
That is EXACTLY why I created my signature group coaching program, In My Strong Mom Era because it is going to help you go from feeling frustrated and resent towards your current pregnant or postpartum body and it's capabilities because you're constantly having to skip, modify or take weight off the barbell because of pain or peeing to feeling strong, capable through pregnancy and finally hitting postpartum or lifetime PRs because you finally took the time to learn the technique, understand how to adjust for your changing pregnant body, and implement the rehab exercises into your workouts.

I know exactly how you're feeling, because I've been there too..
Ā
I was aĀ gymnast for 18 years.Ā After graduating high school in 2008, I went on to compete at theĀ NCAA Division I levelĀ for Sacramento State.
Ā
When my college eligibility ended, I transitioned toĀ Olympic Weightlifting to fuel my competitive fireĀ while finishing up my prerequisites for nursing school.Ā
Ā
A few years later,Ā I became an Olympic Weightlifter for Team USAĀ and competed at theĀ 2016 Olympic Trials.Ā That was when I reached what I thought was my peak athletic potential.
Ā
I trained 1-2x a day, 6 days a week.Ā I was strong, lean, and in shape.Ā I was in complete control of my body and my schedule.
Ā
But then in 2021, I got pregnant.Ā Slowly, thatĀ sense of control began to slip away.Ā By the time my baby was born,Ā I felt like I had zero controlĀ over my body and my time.
Ā
IĀ had no idea how to navigate my new reality.Ā I couldnāt understand how I could feelĀ so strong and in control one day, and so incredibly weak and vulnerableĀ the next.
Ā
It was a completeĀ shock to my bodyĀ and my life because the moment my daughter was born..
Ā
Ā šš» I could barely walkĀ from the wheelchair to the car on the day I was discharged from the hospital.
Ā
Ā šš» I couldn't perform a bodyweight squat without experiencingĀ severe vaginal heaviness.
Ā
Ā šš» My core felt so weak thatĀ I felt like my body would literally fold in half.
Ā
Ā šš» The tailbone painĀ I had while nursing wasĀ unbearable.
Ā
So,Ā I understand why you feel like your body has failed you,Ā because I felt that exact same resentment.
Ā
But that is exactly why I became a pre- and postnatal coach forĀ athlete moms.Ā I have literallyĀ lived this reality.
Ā
I went from a collegiate athlete andĀ high-level athlete for Team USA toĀ now a mom of twoĀ who isĀ beginning to reveal an athletic potential I never knew I had in me.
Ā
Here is the really good news from a mom who is on the other side:Ā it actually gets better.Ā There is a completely new level of athleticism that unlocks after having babies.Ā
Ā
But it doesn't just happen after a certain amount of time passes,Ā you have to have a real training plan and the necessary rehab after babies.
Ā
When you join the Get Back to Training Like and Athlete PostpartumĀ you willĀ learn how to properly get back to training the way you want to, build the strong and athletic body you want, and walk away with the long-term strategies needed to keepĀ building strength, supporting your pelvic floor, fuel your athletic fire, and staying successful as an athlete mom for good.
It's time to start training like the athlete you know you are, Mama!
